There’s a familiar passage often quoted in that motivates humanitarian work found in Matthew 25:40: “Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Meeting the needs of others is much more than just meeting physical needs. The work of the Lord Jesus Christ is wrapped up in this: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace … who proclaims salvation” (Isaiah 52:7).
